Description: The white cottage near the corner was owned by the Mallard Family. John and Agnes (Aggie) Mallard once lived in the historical house, which was considered to be one of the oldest residential structures in Newfoundland and Labrador

Description: Mallard Cottage was designated a National Historic Site by Parks Canada in 1983; a Registered Heritage Structure by Heritage Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador in 1986; and a Heritage Building by the City of St. John’s in 2006.  Today, Mallard Cottages operates as a well-known restaurant.
